The picture is great, but how does it imply that man is responsible?

those who deny that humans have no effect on global temperature simply deny any of the science behind it.

Conversely, those who are adamant that man is responsible simply refuse to acknowledge any alternative theories.

As mentioned previously, there is no scientific consensus on anthropogenic global warming. Don't confuse the science with politics.

There is no reasoning with alarmists as this is a religion to them. I see no point in engaging in a fruitless argument and wasting time that could be used in many more productive ways.

Hopefully, the hysteria will die down in a few years and the truth will become apparent. Either you'll look back and feel silly or you'll find another bandwagon to jump on.

593592 2007-10-03 07:40:00 The magnetic poles are on the move so that will be having an effect on the ice caps but so far I have not come across a site explaining the effects, but might do a hunt tonight. mikebartnz (21)

I think I might prefer articles from the “Old” Scientist . :D

However, I was entertained by their other subject on “Invading Bullfrogs spreading Deadly Fungus” . Not sure what steps to take about that .

The End is Nye, The End is Nye, it’s The Bomb or The Pill, woe is me . :help:

Here was me thinking all these alarmists retired when multiple Nuclear Bomb Tests didn’t divide the earth into multiple segments .

Mind you, I'm pleased they stopped trying . :D

593595 2007-10-03 08:07:00 legod, common sense tells me that humans are trashing the whole of Earth now that there are more than 6,622,191,607 of us here, there are more of us alive now than were born in the whole of mankind's history before 1950.

Good luck with your ostrich technique of avoiding reality but it doesn't change anything in the real world.

Mike the magnetic poles have been moving for as long as man has known about them.

That is why Mariners or Aviators or indeed anybody that uses Charts for Navigation Purposes must correct their charts to compensate if they are relying on a magnetic compass bearing.

The current deviation and date are printed on each chart. After that it’s up to you to make corrections as advised in the Notice to Mariners and similar publications.

I doubt they would move far enough to effect the Ice cover.

Totally agree with above .

Again - I get the impression you seem to think that I don't care about the environment or I refuse to admit that man has adverse effects on the environment . Not true . I think you are confused . You know, it is possible to care about the planet, be environmentally responsible, and yet NOT go along with all this 'man is responsible for catastrophic global warming' nonsense .
The reality, as you quite rightly pointed out, is that the world is overpopulated . If so, there are far more pertinent issues to be addressed . Likely the effects of the population boom will kill a hell of a lot more people than global warming ever will .
Besides, for sake of argument let's say CO2 emissions are directly responsible for global warming . Less people would solve the problem (less CO2 exhaling, vehicle emissions, power usage etc etc) . If govts were really serious about combating the problem, then perhaps they'd be addressing population growth .

I am quite familiar with that but it might pay you to read the two links I supplied as you might learn something you don't know.
