592917 2007-09-29 04:55:00 I'm beginning to wonder, who the hell AM I going to vote for? I'll be 18 for this election and will be voting. But there are no parties in NZ that I like.

I wish you could vote against parties.

You have to learn to think first,so you have a while to go yet,or so it would seem.

Please elaborate, I would love to hear your views on my inability to think.

You should know that man must provide the basics in nature, the socialist would have the unproductive provided by the productive, that is the ones who will get out of bed and make a crust.
We want as liittle interference from the goverment as possible so that we may produce that which our fellow man requires.
So Labour will decide how best your earnings are spent,National will let YOU decide how you spend your earnings, via less tax.

We always make the wrong choice when we vote for a politician.

592921 2007-09-29 11:54:00 If labor gets in again I am all for a good old military coup.
Dont want a grunt or matelot as head of a junta but Airforce.
Army and Navy couldnt plan a pissup in a brewery. Believe me I know, worked with both.
The problem we have in NZ is all the bad backs still have a vote and theres 100,000s of them they all vote labor to a man.

So, what you're saying is I need to learn to think that National is the best party?

I certainly wouldn't vote for National, and I certainly wouldn't vote for Labour either.

I don't agree with your point. With my tax money, the Govt can do big things with millions of dollars.

What can people do with (say) $20 a week extra in their pocket? Spend it on themselves of course.

Fair enough, I suppose. It doesn't make any difference to my vote. $20/week won't win or lose a vote from me.

If you got $20 a week out of $400 tax, I'd get about $2.

592926 2007-09-30 08:46:00 $20 bucks a week saved up in the bank adds up to a hell of a lot of money over a number of years.
Compound interest.
I wish some govt would reduce taxes on savings.
