| 767769 | 2009-04-23 09:30:00 | I've got a colleagues laptop here (Acer Extensa 5220 :yuck:) to take a look at that suddenly stopped booting . When turned on, I get the Acer boot screen, and then just a flashing cursor in the top left of the screen, and a steady blinking HDD LED . The BIOS is detecting the Fujitsu MHV2080BH PL-(S1) HDD on IDE0, and the Fujitsu diagnostic tool passed the drive fine, but Bart PE doesn't find any drive, and neither does an XP installation disk? The drive is actually a 2nd-hand replacement, put in by a local tech, so I'm wondering if it's just faulty . . . . would've thought the diag tool would pick that up though? What should I try? |
