Forget about Global Warming we've got bigger problems than that, so has America, Free Market Economics - the race to the bottom.

593771 2007-09-21 18:52:00 Yes, sad isnot it.

I have known it for years and wish it would change then we would be far better off all round.

You (we) cant keep going on importing stuff unless we sell more.

What did surpsie me was that Australia is below us with their minerals boom you would think they would be miles in credit.

Not only that, but note that former enemies (WW2 and Cold War) are at the top of the list ($$$ surplus), while former/current friends are at the bottom.

And yes, I know Russia and China were not WW2 enemies but they quickly became so.

I heard a financier state on steam wireless that if China called up all it is owed by the US of A they would be bankrupted.

They would be very stupid to do that though, China's economy survives because they, and other developing nations, provide cheap finance to Western countries so they can afford to buy their goods.

593776 2007-09-22 00:02:00 The western countries seem to be sharing the bottom with us - America, UK, Aussie.

There's no point going and comparing ourselves to China.

If they did that, then you could kiss China good bye as well. Though in such a case, the EU, Japan and India could potentially bail the USA out. I mean no country wants to lose its biggest trading partner especially after Bush leaves.
