1438194 2017-08-12 03:39:00 Rediscovering the pain of a fresh install of win7 on a crufty old laptop that needed a birthday.

No WLAN - to be expected.
No LAN - really? - standard realtek chipset...

Device Manager a sea of yellow ... :annoyed:

My advice and it feels good to smash it.

1438196 2017-08-12 04:15:00 Drivers shouldn't be a problem, just get them from the manufacture.

The "Fun" Will be if you try to run updates :( . High chance it wont work, can sit there going nowhere for hours, because the updater will be out of date, microsoft have changed the way the updates work as well and no longer work.

Last two I did, one was the PITA Way, plugable.com

The other downloaded the WSUS Offline Updater http://download.wsusoffline.net/ Downloaded all the updates, ran the updates - installed ( again taking a few hours) then the inbuilt update worked.

Good luck :)

That reminds me, I was going to do another install, sysprep it, then create an image and use that if I reinstall W7 again, save hours of work. :)

1438197 2017-08-12 05:16:00 Unless you really want Win7, why not just update to Win10? Bryan (147)

I don't want either ... but it's not mine.

And wow - any search with 'driver' as a term gets 15 pages of malware links.

It's an eu spec toshiba and toshiba.eu keeps dropping download connections part way through :annoyed:

And why tf is a bluetooth driver 90MB!

1438199 2017-08-13 09:17:00 Even from Windoze ME, W10 is not an update. R2x1 (4628)
1438200 2017-08-13 10:21:00 Could be worse. I had to do a repair install on a Windows XP laptop, and Setup wouldn't pick up the SATA HDD. The drivers from HP would only write to a floppy disk, so I had to fire up a VM to get them  pcuser42 (130)

Don't search. Go straight to the manufacturers website and look under the model number.

1438202 2017-08-13 22:07:00 Try Tosh NZ for drivers .
There may be a similar NZ model .

Just thank God its not an HP, they would give you a multichoice of 4 completely different drivers for the NIC & another 4 for the wifi

"And why tf is a bluetooth driver 90MB! "
The same reason a printer driver can be 400M+ :badpc:
That BT download wont be just the driver, it will also be some BT software

We have setup a server 2012 machine running WSUS here to overcome the Win7 update issues. Literally saves DAYS.

As for the drivers, as has been said, NEVER get them from a site other than the manufacturer's. If you are having trouble locating them, let us know the exact model number of the laptop and we can point you in the right direction. I've has great success with downthemall addin for Firefox from the EU Tosh site.

Fresh installing Win10 would have been a lot easier. :p
