1438152 2017-08-08 20:40:00 Hello
I have been doing some renovations lately.

I wonder what your thoughts are on getting tradesman to work on an hourly basis or is it best to get them to give you a quote.

1438153 2017-08-08 21:07:00 Get a quote or you will be ripped off (i'm an ex tradie so I know how some of them work) and get the quote in writting gary67 (56)
1438154 2017-08-08 21:17:00 Yep, make sure you have a quote.

Husband never really worked on hourly.....he'd generally give a set price for things.

You didn't want him to do hourly really, it can take ages sometimes, unexpected issues etc....
Usually it was fine, occasionally he ended up with something that he calculated was $2 an hour if it turned out to be a pig.

Likewise computing...I had fixed fees, if they insisted I sit there at their place though, then hourly. With computing you can be working on more than one if back at the workshop (time spent scanning, updating etc)

If its been drawn up & concented, not so difficult.
But if it's a plan as you go job?
