If the manufacturers driver doesnt work, you may be out of luck. It could also be that its faulty .
Can also be Win10 not allowing you to use those Win7 drivers & forcing the default driver regardless

Given how cheap the are , perhaps buy another brand with bundled Win10 drivers ?

look for the hardware ID in device manager. Search for that in google. Trawl through all the rubbish websites offering BOGUS driver downloads , or wanting payment for downloads .

1437817 2017-07-31 23:37:00 Looking at the site 1101 linked, the Windows drivers should work, they go up to 8.1, and most 8.1 work in W10.

Failing that, install in compatibility Mode.

1437818 2017-07-31 23:47:00 If that adapter is only 300 mbps, probably be better if you got a faster adapter. If the modem youre using is faster than 300 mbps Speedy Gonzales (78)
1437819 2017-08-01 01:19:00 Thanks for the help guys, I'm thinking it may be stuffed.
Tried that driver but still get the same result.
Even in compatability mode.
Not a major problem though, still got wired ethernet.
Just thought I'd try to get it going seeing it was installed.

1437820 2017-08-02 07:32:00 look on the driver return code and see what's the error code? or have a look on the windows log. FarJ (17562)

1437822 2017-08-04 00:07:00 Go in to Device Manager, then go to the Properties for it
Go to the Details tab, and then change the Property to "Hardware IDs".
The first line will look like: USB\VEN_8086&DEV_XXXX
Post what that first line says here

Basically, we might be able to find you a driver from the chipset vendor rather than the manufacturer :)

1437823 2017-08-04 02:25:00 Yup it'd be better if you can find out what chipset it uses

Like the Tplink adapters I had, Tplink didn't have any drivers for Win10. The Win8 drivers worked, but no 5 GHZ.

And the drivers Win10 installed and worked, but its drivers didnt support 5 GHZ

I had to download Mediatek drivers because thats what the chipset was. And then I could select either 2.4 or 5 GHZ

Then I got some Comfast adapters. Only prob with those, the realtek drivers were crap, and caused probs.

Now, I'm using Edup adapters. And so far, so good.
