1437802 2017-07-31 22:23:00 ... Damn shame our team have to be playing over there. Any predictions? The blerry Sarfies will have home advantage, as well as playing at high altitude. Hmm. I have reservations about this match, so I reckon it'll be a close score. Greg (193)
1437803 2017-08-01 00:18:00 Tough one. Especially as I now find myself 'rooting' for the Crusaders.
Both teams are equally good, my guess it'll come down to home town advantage.

Lions had the killer instinct in the 2nd half against the Canes. If they bring that for the full 80 this weekend the Crusaders will get their ass kicked.

Unless I'm wrong.

1437804 2017-08-01 01:07:00 I'm hoping the Crusaders defense will see them through. I'd say the Lions are slight favorites though, home advantage is huge. Nick G (16709)

1437806 2017-08-01 01:47:00 The conferences are complete BS. The Lions have had such an easy run. If they had actually been playing NZ teams, they would not have as many points at they do and would not be hosting the final. Guaranteed.

I'm not saying they are a bad team - they certainly deserved to be in the playoffs, but they unjustly have home advantage for the final, which is SA is a huge advantage, more so than the other way around. I really really hope the Crusaders can deal to them, but I'm not at all confident. It's a big ask.

1437807 2017-08-01 07:36:00 Urm, how's that?

1437808 2017-08-01 22:17:00 What do you mean how's that? The Lions have not played a single Kiwi team outside of the playoffs. They've played the Kings twice, and the Sunwolves once, as well as a bit of very average Aussie opposition.

Simply put they have had an extremely easy run to the finals. Hosting a home final in front of 60,000 fans, especially in Jo'burg, is a huge advantage, and one that I don't believe they deserve.

1437810 2017-08-02 07:07:00 No worries. But I completely agree with your previous comment.

1437811 2017-08-02 21:24:00 I have no real hope that it will be the finals, there will be more rugby games next year ad infinitum. Rugby "between consenting adults" should be committed in privacy. R2x1 (4628)
