1437390 2017-07-20 00:01:00 Looks like Avast has purchased Piriform for 1.3 billion dollars.

Hopefully they dont screw it up when it gets updated!

Hmm didnt know they brought AVG as well . They're as bad as each other !

1437391 2017-07-20 00:40:00 Oh joy, next they'll roll them all into one product with constant adds and a nag screen suggesting you update to the paid version.
I really hope they keep Ccleaner as a stand alone program, I don't run it all that regularly but I do use it and am not going to install Avast.

1437392 2017-07-20 01:13:00 Malwarebytes still have Awdcleaner and Junkware Removal Tool as a standalone product

Most would have C-Cleaner on their comps but there is others around

1437393 2017-07-20 07:54:00 I am quite happy with CCleaner the way it is. I will wait and see. Bobh (5192)
1437394 2017-07-20 20:02:00 I would suggest that you get a copy of the current download and keep it safe just in case they play around with it. Then if you ever need to, you could resurrect it. Bryan (147)

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Great for them to get a good payday for their product .

Avast will want a return on investment , no matter want they claim they are going to do .
Look at how Avast behaves with its AV :popups that are no more than scareware , tricking people into buying uneeded addons .

I'm glad I don't use it now. Haven't for a while. I'll stick with the basic windows defender and its firewall. Less chance of anything crashing !
