| 1437979 | 2017-08-09 21:12:00 | I have a friend who, last year, was on the dole for a bit. This is: $212.45 per week after tax. In addition to that she got $50 temporary additional support allowance and $45 a week accommodation allowance - the maximum in Akld for a single person. Her mortgage is $345 a week. She had a boarder move in, one son, for a while. He paid $100 a week. She didn't tell them. So she is as evil as the MP, right? If she had told them they would have stopped all but the dole payment. Tell me how you live on that, remember there is rates, power, insurance etc as well on top of the mortgage. The son moved out of Auckland and she now has full time work. She also had to re-do her mortgage while not working, cause of course, she got in the ****. It's now a longer term. So at least the MP was honest. Show me another who is.....never come across such a thing |

| 1437981 | 2017-08-09 21:35:00 | M T was supported by family at the rate of $20K per year while she was on the DPB according to family members. She has been systemicly ripping off the tax payers since leaving school and I guess we will pe paying her very well for the forseeable future. MP's pension, jail accommodation etc. She is far from being the only politician with their nose firmly embeded in the trough but she is certainly one of the more expert. I doubt than anyone gets too upset about the likes of your friend any more than they would about the odd cash job done by a tradesman but that is a bit different to carrying out long term deliberate fraud and then claiming it was justified because the mean taxpayers did not provide enough free money. |

She attributes the reason for her resignation as wanting to protect her family from unpleasantness. Ignoring she's now tarnished with dishonesty and fraud at all. Symptomatic in many ways of the entitlement the left wing engenders. |

I give her credit for admitting what she did . Not denying, not saying "I dont remember" . Other MP's seem to have trouble remembering their fairly recent actions (cough cough B . E) Other MPs found ways to screw the system via loopholes in allowances, or pass laws to just give themselves allowances, and sweet super deals . I suspect M . T . was given an ultimatium , resign or get pushed out . She'll be almost unemployable now , no wonder she didnt want to leave a cushy high paying job . Now lets see how much media attention is focused on B . E's forgotten txts . Seems to get no where near as much news coverage . |

You are of course pretty well correct in that they all play the rules to the very limit when it comes to their own pockets . That is the whole lot of them without exception no matter which party they belong to . B E is looking rather shifty about those texts . I liked him as Finance Minister, PM not so much . It is my opinion that it is time for National to go, they are making some dumb mistakes and have become too arrogant for my tastes . The only problem with that is that their replacements are not likely to be any better . Never mind when we are all under water when the ice melts I guess we will not be worried about politics to much . |

I can give you names of at least a couple who would be horrified and would report her. The reason isn't any different, my friend did it because she had to. where do you draw the line? And tax....it's OK to do cashies under the table? Then by the same idea, it's ok for large corporates to do their thing and pay bugger all tax too. If there was no tax, we'd have no services at all, however much we all like to ***** about them and the priorities given to each. Not sure I'd like the old feudal system, taxed to the max to support the king and his battles and no services, nor food in return... Dunno, I give the MP points for being honest anyway, although I was amazed she'd say such a thing, she perhaps didn't realise the hate she'd get and the damage to the party. |
