1437116 2017-07-14 02:20:00 The error message looks like what you get when you have the wrong version of windows installed for the key you used or it thinks it's different hardware. Does it show as windows 10 pro still?
If it's a hardware change issue click that "I changed hardware on this device recently" link, choose the right PC from the list it should provide, and it should reactivate itself.
However you describe nothing that should cause this, it's more of a motherboard change kind of thing. I used that to reactivate after upgrading a motherboard on a retail copy of windows, it only works if you use a windows live login I think.

1437117 2017-07-14 03:00:00 dugimodo: No hardware change. As mentioned earlier, I only did a system restore yesterday (to a restore point I created before I installed the Nvidia graphic driver, i.e. also yesterday). Nothing more than that.

To be more precise, I got my new SSD on the 16 May 2017 and probably installed the Win10 on the same day.

Yes. it still shows Windows 10 Professional. This cannot be wrong. If I installed the wrong version of Windows, I wouldn't be able to activate it in the first instance. I have no issues as far as activation is concerned from day one; until this morning.

What number to call for manual activation?

1437119 2017-07-14 04:04:00 This can be caused by system corruption or a virus . Could be , maybee not.

It can be a real pain in the arse when a vaild Win Install gets activation issues out of the blue (it happens). It can take ages to sort out
It doesnt help that you cant connect to the activation service : MS activation serves MIGHT be offline (or your system is too corrupt)

Try again in a day or so, it may just work then
or reload the Win key (change product key) You'll need to extract it from the bios

1437120 2017-07-14 04:11:00 Thanks for the number, wratterus.

Phoned MS and had a hard time in getting use to the foreign accent. Anyway, finally got my Win10 activated, at last.

1437121 2017-07-14 06:25:00 They have clearly lost the plot! Error message clearly states that the key they found was for W10 Pro, also states that you are running W10 Pro! So what is the problem? Probably best to leave it a while, and it will probably sort out. It should not effect the operation. In my case I always have an image backup so I would just reinstall it. mzee (3324)

How to extract the key from the BIOS? Would be nice to have it for future issues.

1437124 2017-07-14 21:57:00 Is it safe to run those utility programs?

Has anyone here tried any of them?
