1437075 2017-07-12 02:52:00 Does this help? technet.microsoft.com(v=ws.10).aspx

Why do you need to use a virtual drive as opposed to just a normal partition ?

1437076 2017-08-05 22:00:00 Sorry for the late reply: Because I think virtual drives give me more space and I don't know that much about partitions. GenoMark (17560)
1437077 2017-08-05 22:28:00 That won't work, when you create the VHD it will ask you where you want to store the file (vhd file) which will use existing free space on whichever disk you select.

If you're running out of space on your disk you're probably best to delete stuff or buy a bigger disk and migrate/clone your existing disk to the new one.

1437078 2017-08-06 04:06:00 So that's the reason why it says The parameter is incorrect? GenoMark (17560)
1437079 2017-08-06 06:25:00 Sorry for the late reply: Because I think virtual drives give me more space and I don't know that much about partitions. Thats not exactly correct. Think about it --As Chief posted-- Where do you think the space is going to come from ?

If you have a certain amount of free space, some of the Virtual Drive will use that. Its not like you are going to get more capacity than the drive has Eg: you're not going to get 1TB of space from a 500GB drive. Egg: Virtual Drive 500GB + Normal usage 500GB -- Not gonna happen.

1437080 2017-08-07 13:46:00 So that's the reason why it says The parameter is incorrect?

You are probably getting this message because you're selecting a VHD size which is larger than the amount of free space you have on the disk.

So in short yes I'd say that's why you're getting the message "Parameter in incorrect"
