768561 2009-04-26 05:41:00 Hi Guys
Trying to find for my neighbor (sigh, another freebie job) the product key from his HDD
The disk has partially crashed and wont boot, but when install it in one of my PCs as a slave, I can see the directories and navigate thru them.
He has what looks to be a genuine XP Home CD but there is no documentation with it and no COA on the beige box to which it is installed
Is there a way to find the product key from the HDD or is he up for a new license.
I have used Belarc, Product Key Explorer and SiSoft Sandra but those only seem to access the C: drive of my PC

Cheers

Hi
Thanks for that.
Magic Jelly bean is the same as the others I have tried.
It only interogates the live master disk on the PC where Magic Jellybean is being run, not any slave drives
It does not seem configurable to be able to look at any other HDD. D:,C: etc
Thanks for the input and I"ll keep looking

768564 2009-04-26 10:33:00 Try the load hive option in Magic jellybean. Select it point it to the slaved hdd's install folder. If its slaved to a PC with Vista on it, run it as admin first Speedy Gonzales (78)

The Live UBCD also has that option.
