767970 2009-04-24 03:25:00 I have a laptop running on XP SP3 and am trying to set up Audacity 1.2 to record LPs. To set the playback & recording devices of the inbuilt sound you go to the Audio I/O tab of Preferences. The instructions state Do NOT select "Microsoft SoundMapper" on Windows machines. The only other option given is "Conexant HD Audio output/Input. Will this work/be safe? as I am connecting to the Microphone jack on the computer. Any help much appreciated. Luvey19 (14514)
767971 2009-04-24 05:48:00 It seems to be a known issue using Audacity with laptops as there is no visible line in option as the recording source. You could try if it can be applied/enabled in Audacity from the sounds settings in windows control panel. Possible workarounds here (audacityteam.org trol_Panel) and here (n2.nabble.com)... kahawai chaser (3545)
