| 767972 | 2009-04-24 03:10:00 | I have a question I remember that my pc fail to boot up if the two ram sticks arent the same but I have heard also that it is totally wrong and that two different ram sticks can be run on a pc. Is there some sort of thing in the motherboard that makes it able to run two different ram size stick? I fit in a 1x 1GB and a 1x2GB and the PC didnt boot up at all but 2x 2gb worked. |

| 767975 | 2009-04-24 03:40:00 | What happens when you boot up with just the 1gb stick? PC beeps and wont display anything . There must be two ram sticks inside the PC Correct that having two different size DDR ram defeats the purpose of double data rate? Since you have two uneven ram say 1x 512 and 1x 1gb double rate it won't be double data? |

| 767979 | 2009-04-24 03:55:00 | I think if you want to run 1x512 and 1x1gb it cant be in dual channel, i could be rong though | pantera989 (14533) | ||
| 767980 | 2009-04-24 04:01:00 | Could depend on what brand/model of the mobo is, and how it deals with ram / the chipset it uses. And what slots you have to put the ram in, before it'll work properly | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
