595262 2007-09-26 10:23:00 Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows what the name of the convention is for confirming the spelling of words over the phone for hotel receptionists and the like. I.e. A Apple, C China... etc. Is there a recognized set of words for this sort of use?

Hope ya'll get my drift....:stare: :help:

Thanks :)

595263 2007-09-26 10:27:00 It is called a phonetic alphabet. There are a variety of different ones, but the NATO phonetic alphabet (en.wikipedia.org) would probably be the most common one in use. Jen (38)
