| 594410 | 2007-09-24 04:06:00 | I have been pretty disappointed with the coverage and quality of the WRC games. It is like looking through the wrong end of binoculars at times - not many real good closeups of the action. I watch TV3 on Sky as I get a lot of ghosting on my normal TV arial. The picture, this morning in particular, was fuzzy, pixelated and lacking good colour. Totally different to what we are used to in Sky's coverage of Super 14, Tri Nations etc. A couple of times when the cameras zoomed in on a running player this morning, the pixelation/blockyness was really bad. I wonder if it is Sky's revenge for TV3's court action? Maybe cutting down the bandwidth. If so, that is a pretty crappy thing to do to its viewers who pay for Sky to solve poor TV reception on TV1, 2 & 3. Ken |

Its just sold on to any country thats prepared to pay. However, why both Scotland and NZ decided to play in such similar colours this morning defies belief. Sort of Fashion on the Field and stuff the spectators. Half the time I dont think even the players knew who was who. |

That is the answer I would have expected. It looks like Freeview is the answer for the FTA channels. Sky disappoints me frequently. Ken |

How does Freeview quality compare with a strong analogue signal? On a friends 37" LCD Sky still looks pixelated, should we expect Freeview to be similar? I know true high-def wont arrive till next year but was hoping DVB-S would still be a decent improvement. |

I can see a difference between the analogue channels and their equivalent on freeview. I think my analogue signal is pretty damn good too. I do have a 47" HD LCD TV sitting in its box here that I am very tempted to setup and test on freeview to see what the quality is like. (It is brand new for a customer who changed their mind :badpc: so is for sale if anyone is interested :D ) |
