768017 2009-04-24 09:44:00 In Disk management is this partition showing as a basic or dynamic disk?

It is Basic.

768018 2009-04-24 09:46:00 Put it in another system and take ownership of it (support.microsoft.com). That site may apply to Vista as well. Or get this (www.howtogeek.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
768019 2009-04-24 10:17:00 check the acer drivers site, it should have a copy of the recovery program, and you should be able to burn the recovery discs from there. mabix (10146)

768021 2009-04-24 10:51:00 OP: Why can't you just use a plain Vista disc and download the drivers from Acer?

That's exactly what I did!

If I have a recovery DVD or partition, after installing the OS, I don't need to go through the phone activating process; and you are sure that all the drivers are correct. And, I think it is much quicker to reinstall from the recovery DVD or partition.

Any, I have just downloaded and installed the eRevovery program, and am now doing the backing up to DVD.

Question: This eRecovery is backing up from the recovery partition or from the OS that I just installed? Any idea?
