Alot of people are saying "he was trained to shoot to kill" in situations like that. That tells me a few things 1. NZ Police training is retarded. 2. The dude can't handle pressure and therefore shouldn't be a cop. Apparently the guy was on some sort of 3 day herbal pill bender ? 595529	2007-09-30 02:07:00	God damn you people are naive, Tweak, I'll send you a PM with a little background, then you can ****. granted your story is not printable ;) however the big difference is you had oppertunity to flee. thats the catch. a cop dosn't have that, his job is to stay with it. if the guy had continued to attack the car he would proberly be alive, but as soon as he approchs an officer thats a different ball game. that of course is where suicide by cop comes in. one of the big complaints at the moment is anytime a person protects themselves or others they are prosucted. even if its totally legit self defence cost of defence is often more than the punishment.	tweak'e (69)

595531	2007-09-30 02:13:00	There were 3 "stories" one of which put me near dead and on a operating table for 12 hours. One of the situations has been ongoing for 20 years, and could easily escalate to murder if the cops turned up waving guns. The point was just to illustrate that I had indeed faced down a nut case or 2 in my time, and that due to some of these mad bastards being related the last thing some of us would want to do is ring the cops so they can turn up and kill them, or shoot a piece of scum yourself so that you can go through a trial and probable jail time. 595532	2007-09-30 02:34:00	you still missing the point however, you may have faced some serious nut cases but there was none where there was no opportunity to escape, a luxury the police don't have. you havn't been in the same position the police officer was. he HAS to confront the situation, you CHOSE to confront the situation. big difference and thats a big deciding factor between jail or not. when it involves family members thats a tricky one, there is no real answer on that.	tweak'e (69)
