768156 2009-04-24 22:47:00 Hi and hoping someone can help, please. A few days back Firefox updated itself to the latest version. However everytime it starts it goes to:- en-us.www.mozilla.com My home pages is set to About:blank, and has been for a number of years. I have checked under Tools, Options, main and it says, about:blank.
I had this problem last time it updated and I was able to stop it by undeleting, running C Cleaner and reinstalling. I have done that and it still goes to it home page, as above. Any advise greatly appreciated. Ian.

768158 2009-04-24 23:10:00 Yer, I done that. As I've said I have used Firefox for years, so know all the settings, but I just can't stop it changing the home page on start up. If I click on the home page icon it goes to About:blank, as it should... ianhnz (4263)
768159 2009-04-24 23:23:00 Uninstall it again, export the bookmarks, if you have any. Then delete its folders under C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox, C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla, and C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data.

You'll have to show all files, to see the above folders. Use this the free version (http://www.glaryutilities.com/) update it then click on scan for issues. Remove whatever comes up. Then reinstall firefox

768164 2009-04-25 00:29:00 Ccleaner is OK, but I dont think its as thorough as Glary utilities. Thats probably why one cleaner may pick up more than another.

Altho, I would be careful with some of these programs, as some can delete / remove valid entries to whatever. And can / will totally kill a system, if you delete a valid entry (if its needed)

I'm not on Trademe, and I've got enough passwords to remember :p
