768790 2009-04-27 01:09:00 Hi i am looking for a great isp for fast broadband no limit on up or down speed not less than than 3 gb/month data i would prefer 5 to 10 i dont want it bundled with a phone connection and only want it month to month not a fixed term contract
i dont want to use xtra or vodophone as i know of so many people with problems with them.
i have been reading some reports and it would seem that most isp,s have huge problems i was going to use slingshot inferno plan @ $60.00 per month so if anyone can give me some feedback on that in particular i would appreciate it we live in hamilton and cant get adsl2 yet

768791 2009-04-27 01:37:00 I would recommend Telstra Clear for what you want.

Full up, full down, 10GB, $55.95 a month. They have been in the top 3 ISPs each year for the last while, voted best ISP one year, and I know many people who are with them, they are all pretty happy.

Orcon is also good, although a bit dear if you don't get the whole package with them.

768792 2009-04-27 01:45:00 I am a big supporter of Orcon, I'm with them on their platinum plan, 25GB/month max/max speed with homeline phone with 1 hour free calls within NZ & australia. $120/month. Nictech (14748)

I'm with Orcon, they would be my pick of ISP in NZ. However that's the Platinum+ plan, and although it's great, the OP won't be able to get that.

The Platinum plan is significantly dearer if you opt for the full up and down option.

No - there are two sets of plans for Orcon. The + plans (inside the orcon + network) and the normal home plans (outside the orcon + network).

The only exchanges that have Orcon + available are Ponsonby, Glenfield, Ellerslie, Browns Bay, Mt Albert, Auckland Central, Takapuna, Manurewa, Mt Eden, Remuera, Blockhouse Bay, Howick, Birkenhead, St Heliers, Glen Eden, Massey, Mt Roskill, Forrest Hill, New Lynn, Devonport, Te Atatu, Avondale, Three Kings, Torbay, Red Beach, Glendowie, Manukau City, Pakuranga, Onehunga, Papakura, Tamaki, Hibiscus Coast, Papatoetoe, Titirangi, Waiuku, Pukekohe, Wellington Central and Courtney Place.

The rest of us just have normal broadband.

That's Orcon's plans.
