596486 2007-09-30 22:57:00 why it is that with Vodafone, the clock on your phone is not synced with the cellphone towers? With telecom phones(i'm told),they sync with the cell towers so they automatically adjust to daylight savings. why can't vodafone do this? The iphone's clock syncs with the cell towers,so why can't vodafone do this? lance4k (4644)

596489 2007-10-01 03:10:00 I wouldn't want Vodafone to change anything on my phone without my express permission. Get an iBrick if you want absolutely no control. beeswax34 (63)
596490 2007-10-01 03:17:00 I have always thought it would be good if they synched your phones time on Vodaphone's. As then you would know that when you checked the time it was dead right.

Many people do not have watches these days and rely on their mobiles as a clock.

I can't see any big brother rpoblems ?

You did get a choice wether or not to update the iphone, it wasn't forced. Anyone with a hacked iphone would have read about the update. rant over.
Apple had an interesting patch for daylight savings. Do it yourself, no patch available, which is fine but it now upsets international time:(
Slack on apples part.

Very.
For the record, none of Apple's updates are forced on the user contrary to some opinions on this forum.

596493 2007-10-01 06:09:00 My vodafone phone is clock synched, it auto changed over this morning, not sure what you guys are up to, mine just has an option to synch the clock and seems to do it perfectly fine, ie if I change the clock to some random time then set the synch on, it will be back on the right time in around 5 minutes. lagbort (5041)
