I believe that I am the person who is paying here. So far in my mind there was a choice of two as to Flag. Only one entry actually qualifies at the moment. |

Try making a design and ask how to put it up. If it was close I might make a poll. A poll means nothing. Do you vote for the new Flag or do you vote for the designer? Unlike some people I am prepared to put up or shut up. Have you read the whole thread? |

You're right there are 3 attempts there 3 seperate pictures on the same page, as you did say we were able to post multiple entries and didn't specify they had to be on seperate pages First off then, I only have paint to use for designing at the moment as my tool of choice "fireworks MX" apparently has issues with Vista so the colours/designs are very basic and in some cases messy (have you tried to use the pen tool in paint) Second off, i have avoided using Black as a majority colour as it is to wrapped up with sports teams which these days are just commercials for there foreign owned sponsers Image 1 I am going for a horizontal Blue and curved vertical green here to represent the seas and the mountains, with the white representing the air, the southern cross is there because it is a feature of our skys and also to provide a sense of continuity from the old flag under which generations of NZers have fought and died The top of the blue is suppossed to be curling like waves, there were going to be 12 waves representing the 12 provinces of NZ but well I couldn't remember if there were 12 provinces and my abilities with paint are pretty woeful Image 2 Again the Blue and Green with the white representing the air, I have done them as vertical stripes because i think it is a good way of framing the southern cross, the height and thickness of the bars also represent depth and breadth of the sea and the vast areas of green land and forest that we still have, the southern cross is included for the same reason it was in the previous ones I mage 3 This is included more as humour than anything, but if you think about it, we are always emphasising NZs clean green land, and whether people like it or not NZs industry was built of the sheeps back (so to speak) for a number of years, and including the southen cross made up of sheep remembers those who have gone before us and i think they would get the joke, besides why do star have to be represented by star shapes stars are suns which are round!! |
