Get rid of the "NZ" lettering, find a brain cell donor, and perhaps your idea may look ok.

Not bad.

596716 2007-10-06 11:43:00 Actually I put quite a bit of thought into this ver5, the black and white is obvious and symbolizes our racial harmony (haha), the way the two merge symbolizes our increasingly homogenous society.

The koru/wave our forward progression and also the only symbol of NZ that is not comical or hackneyed. The way the abstract koru goes from slightly random to togetherness also has meaning. I could make it perfect but I like the way it looks now with imperfection going to perfection and then to a culmination as a wave. It is actually a natural growth curve I forget the name of it for the moment but it is the curve that for instance allows the maximum number of leaves on a plant to get the most Sun.

The NZ lettering has to be as far as I am concerned because without them the flag is ambiguous, and anyway I like the two of them graphically speaking as they have a good counterpoise which is just happenstance.

There is actually a white outline which is not obvious on the view you are getting and bear in mind that this is a lo res image, it looks much better on my screen.
