769364 2009-04-29 11:45:00 Just managed to get ad blocking working again In IE7 Pro & IE8.

It was working on IE7 and then NOT on IE8 that updated today.

To fix it, I downloaded the latest version, still 2.4.5 and installed over the top and all the IE Pro features came back.

Had to go back into the Preferences and tick ad blocking, and after that PF1 site was loading a LOT faster again.

769366 2009-04-29 12:29:00 Its just the typical Adblock Plus file but exported to work in IE

Yep I think that's right. I feel a bit bad doing it this way rather than using Adblock Plus, but I really prefer to keep the add-ins to a minimum because they always seem to cause problems.

lol good it worked for someone. I just tried it it crashed before it finished installing. So installed it again it worked, but no prefs came up, even if I enabled the addon. So in the bin it went

769369 2009-04-29 22:56:00 Right I got into the prefs. But if you come here, it still doesnt block a lot (ie: anything ). You have to add whatever all the time.

Think I'll stick with Privoxy. Since you dont have to do anything

769370 2009-05-03 12:40:00 I read a long thread somewhere about NoScript's code deliberately undermining Ad Blocker. Google should throw it up. braindead (1685)
