That's already been done. Our timezone used to be GMT+11:30

Yep. I have a rostered day off. Saturdays. I work all the other days of the week. Just been told I must keep my hours per week under 70 without fail.

This is not normally a problem as I usually work between 58 - 68 hours.

Still not sure how a rdo helps with the extra daylight hour after work though.

I think daylight saving is a good idea where we have two parents whom both work. Gives you time to take the children to the park, bush, beach or wherever and spend some time with them.

Then again we could use Glidetime for example.

There again what about shift workers?

And as for the myth that daylight saving fades your furniture etc!!!!

You may as well say that winter months unfade your furniture.

In Australia, Queensland did not use daylight saving while Joe Bjelke-Petersen was premiere of that state. There was a joke at that time:-

"The sun shines out of my other end and I'm not getting out of bed an hour earlier for anyone."

Words to that effect anyway. Well Sir Joe was born in Dannevirke, NZ.

596779 2007-10-01 09:17:00 The RDO I was referring to enabled each person to have a three day weekend once a month without losing any pay.

You could also store them up and take trhem as a block, or cash them in.

Worked well when you used a couple to bookend an already long weekend.

And Queensland still has no daylight savings, Its because its too hot, In that climate you do not benifit from having more daylight at the end of the day. Its much better used in the mornings when its cooler and people are fresher.

As an example suring summer I would start work at 5am in blazing sunlight, work through to lunch time, then head to the pub and drink ale, The day was done, far to hot to be outside working.
