| 596143 | 2007-09-29 06:36:00 | Cheers guys, yup, I got an auto search on Trade me at the moment so everyday it will send me an email to say if anyone has listed it. What are the other sites like trade me? I will look into it further. And yup winmac, I have thought about it, unfortunately I just bought this pc which has sucked up all my funds at the moment. I cant see why they didnt take this pc though as its pretty kick ass. Difficult to carrie I guess... PC's are generally worthless. But you would have made it a prime target by hooking a camera up to it. If your going to install a security system have it recording to a dedicated device that is hidden from view and bolted down....Not to your flash harry PC sitting pretty with all the rest of the goodies. |

The reason I asked is because i am looking at this affordable setup for my iMac http://www.mildmanneredindustries.com/ And I am pretty sure that if you have a look around at all the millions of 3rd party PC apps out there that you could find a suitable cheap setup to do the job. |

The idea of using either a built in web cam or peripheral web cam to capture and email footage of the thief is more for a record for the cops and insurance since they are probably going to steal the PC regardless of what may or may not be attached. It can be a surprisingly good idea especially if the cam can record footage whilst the PC appears to be "asleep" or switched off. |

| 596151 | 2007-09-29 07:35:00 | Thanks johcar for the help, much appreciated, and thanks all for the concern, I would feel sorry for the theif(ves) if I find him before the police or anyone else. Winmac, you need a pir detector for what you want I think, we use them for work, they detect movement, heat or tamper(movement of object while alarmed) and they also can do the other infra that we dont normally use. Personally i think it is an individual, I have a feeling Ill see the guitar again being one of a kind in NZ, just a matter of when I guess. Goddam im pissed off. |
