| 768713 | 2009-04-26 21:37:00 | I am having big trouble with spam, over the 2 day weekend we had 32 spam! . I use Snap, and they are not removing the current spam on Viagra, Cialis etc and a few others. These are attachments to the email, and are presumably in a graphics format. I have a dual core pentium 2200, 160Gb HDD 1Gb RAM, and broadband. I have searched F1, and found reference to three free spam filters: "Spampal", "Poptray", & "Thunderbird". can anyone advise me of the best, most reliable, and easiest to use of these or any others? I prefer free but moderate cost is acceptable. brucem |

| 768715 | 2009-04-26 21:57:00 | Get a Gmail address. Forward all mail from your existing mail address to the Gmail one. Read the Gmail using Thunderbird email client. You will see about one spam per month and will soon ditch your existing email address. Bonus is you can switch ISP if you ever need to without email hassles. No sweat. |

(Or words to that effect depending on their webmail program) That trains it and it generally stops pretty quick after that. |

Since Saturday I am up to 10 plus a day for the usual enhancement drugs/fat reduction/etc. Coincidence? I'm with Xtra and as I say, spam has never been an issue, until the weekend. |

| 768719 | 2009-04-27 22:24:00 | Sometimes when the ISP adjusts or changes spam filters it goes back into learning mode. Or when there is a new lot coming out sometimes takes a couple of days to catch up. |

| 768721 | 2009-04-29 08:00:00 | I turned Xtra's spamguard on (that's how little spam I had before-never needed it) and have received no spam in my inbox since. When checking my spam folder I am getting 12~20 a day now. Only 1 that it quarantined was legitimate. I'd still like to know why the sudden start of the spam though. |

(Not on your PC, I mean on other infected PC's) It's starting to send out spam, infected computers 10,000 - 20,000 spams per day. Doesn't sound like a lot per PC, but multiply that by all the PC's infected worldwide and that could account for it. www.nzherald.co.nz |
