770318 2009-05-02 02:37:00 Hi all. I've recently installed this on two computers, and for some reason, on a XP desktop, it takes an age to do anything (eg 5 minutes to register a click), but on a vista laptop, it flies. Google doesn't seem to be helping, and garmin's help is useless.

I've reinstalled countless times, and although rebooting sped it up (from 10 mins to 5 mins to register a click), it's still hopeless.

Task manager says the CPU sits at around 50% when Basecamp is trying to run. It's on a Dual-core CPU, So I think it's a single thread screwing up.

The laptop is a dual-core 2GHz CPU with 2Gb RAM, desktop is dual-core 3GHz with 4Gb RAM.

I have no idea why this is happening, the only real difference is that the desktop runs zonealarm and gmailnotifier (both run AVG).

Thanks.

EDIT: On the desktop, it's only basecamp that takes 5 minutes to register a click, everything else runs fine, even when basecamp is sitting there.

770319 2009-05-09 21:54:00 Task manager says the CPU sits at around 50% when Basecamp is trying to run.Is it the Basecamp application using 50% of the CPU or another program?

Have you installed the latest updates for the program?

770321 2009-05-10 02:03:00 Jen: Yup, it's Basecamp using all of one core, other programs push it up to around 55% or so. As for the latest updates, it's a fresh install, DL'd on the day.

Blam: Basecamp (or even anything garmin) doesn't even appear in the log. Odd.

Thanks all.
