770015	2009-05-01 11:48:00	Hi guys. For the first time I've upgraded my Xnet broadband to FLS down. After initially (this morning) being fairly excited and happy, now I'm really annoyed and wondering if it was a waste of money moving up from 256k. The issue is, after I got the same loading times as I did from 256k on Youtube I decided to run a test on speedtest.net. National speeds are around 2.5Mbps which I'm happy with, however tests to international servers practically everywhere are reporting speeds below 25kbps. I started running the tests around 9.30pm. Can anyone else please tell me their current international speeds with Xnet? I am very disappointed with what I'm currently achieving and despite being an Xnet customer for over 3 (or was that 4) years I'm now seriously considering a switch.	technicianxp (6463)
770016	2009-05-01 12:06:00	Its been known for ages, (that its slow) its usually slow from overseas. And worse at night. I am also on FLS down. There are a LOT of posts in this forum, about Xnet being slow When its good I can usually get files @ 300-400+. But at the mo (like now), files crawl, and I'll be lucky to get near 30. Thanks Speedy Gonzales, I did track down the older posts both here and on geekzone. My main aim is to find out if this is only happening to torrent users or normal pay per meg subscribers as well. I forgot to mention earlier that I'm on the torrent plan now. Also this morning I downloaded the HAWX demo from GP Downloads with the understanding that it won't be counted in my cap. Checked afterwards and found the whole thing had been put into international traffic. I've emailed Xnet asking what's going on but am yet to hear back. 770018	2009-05-01 12:14:00	I'm on the river plan (not torrent) and yup this issue has been around (IMO, since the torrent plan arrived). Which is WHY Xnet changed their times for the torrent plan (I told them their torrent plan was the cause), and I would say a lot people would have bitched about this torrent plan slowing things down Ive been with Xnet since 2006, speeds were ALWAYS fast. Then everything went to a crawl when the torrent plan arrived.	Speedy Gonzales (78)

770020	2009-05-02 03:15:00	For heavens sake man, switch ISP's and save a lot of aggravation and time worrying about something you can't change and Xnet won't. It is common knowledge their international speed at night is absolutely unusable on or off the torrent plan.	linw (53)

Telecom has been fine recently, I have not heard of many problems (I am also on Telecom (Although on Xtra Go Large), and I have heard more about Xnet / Slingshot / Orcon / Vodafone, then any other ISP.	stu161204 (123)
770022	2009-05-02 08:41:00	Another one here, looking at going back to Telecom. Except I was worried they may be just as bad as Xnet! I'm thinking of changing to Telecom from Xnet too. Had a clear example this afternoon of how poor Xnet is internationally compared to Telecom. Compared results with a friend locally who is with Telecom. His ping times to Perth and to San Francisco were hardly more than half of mine, and the d/l speeds for him were four to five times better. Tests were done basically simultaneously. He is on the Explorer plan, and I am on Xnet Flood.	rumpty (2863)
770023	2009-05-02 08:47:00	OK so I may be slow but downloading at 25-30KB/sec (or less) on Xnet would be slow? Honest question, many variables! Thinking back to my (recent) dial up days at 3-5KB/sec (as I remember it!) it's not a monumental improvement!	Hopper (14491)
