Windows lives and dies by its service packs. I can't recall the last initial release of any Windows product that didn't have at least some problems. Microsoft has often used the service packs for some serious after-release polishing of the OS. In the case of Windows XP, the first service pack made a difference in speed and software compatibility, with a few nods to security.

599536 2007-10-09 03:14:00 Apple keeps releasing all sorts of updates to fix the crap they call iPods and iPhones, that never gets mentioned does it? beeswax34 (63)
599537 2007-10-09 03:24:00 Do you trawl the internet for this stuff, winmacguy?

Remember, only about one out of twenty computer buyers really give a toss. Those are the Apple users. The other nineteen just get on with it. Our hearts don't beat faster when we switch on our computers - we use them as tools.

The OS updates which is what this article refers to get mentioned by PC Mag quite regularly as will Leopard when it debuts at the end of the month although Leopard is the next version as opposed to a point release like 10.5.x
iPod firmware updates are not really such a big deal.

The main reason I posted this one was because of the number of people waiting for Vista SP1 in the expectation that it will fix of improve numerous features in Vista.

In essence the difference between some Mac user and some PC users.

There would be a lot of normal Mac users out there like plod, Safari etc who could take offense to that beeswax.

Bull****.

People don't look to your biased and ignorant posts to find out about MS products. You post this dribble because your nuts.

I guess that mean that no one here gives a sh*t about Vista either:eek: :D :p

Well I certainly don't. I prefer to wait until a year's worth of early-adopters do Microsoft's beta testing for them (and pay for the privilege)....

Nearly correct. When you say "no one here etc" you are wrong.

Some people here DO use Vista and good luck to them. These people are not wrong. Sometimes those people may need help with the O/S. Other people use Linux of any flavour. One person I know still runs a 486 with 2 megs RAM and MSDos 5.0.

Personally I use WinXP.

I have not bought Vista at this time. This does not mean to say that I never will though.

Have fun with your iHolden. It will not beat an Ford as noticed at Bathurst.

Oh forgot. What about an iALLBLACK TEAM? Surely this would beat French people.
