I suggest you head down to a DSE store when you can & pick up one of their cheap network cards. If that isn't the problem you can return the card & get your money back. Can you please post a screenshot of the network connections folder on both your laptop & your desktop? |

The communication between the modem and the computer are good. one other question when you are trying to setup the pc is the laptop also on the network or using the router at the same time:No, I move the cable from one device to the other.
