597865 2007-10-07 21:15:00 I think that's similar to how those self-serve petrol stations (e.g. Pak n Save Fuel) and hotels operate, which is that they 'freeze' a certain dollar amount on your credit card, and then process the actual transaction later just to make sure that you have sufficient funds. somebody (208)
597866 2007-10-08 08:02:00 It looks to me like Paypal's method of testing that your credit card no. is valid - by making a small charge on it.

That way they can test whether it comes through at their end.
And that's why they refer to the time your bank takes...
....and why it drops off later.

Just my guesswork.
I haven't used Paypal.
