770227 2009-05-02 21:05:00 An ASUS motherboard by any chance......?
Memory Memory Memory....
To check the memory:
Download memtest86 iso image (a free program)
Burn it to a CD (creates a boot CD)
Boot of the CD and start the memory test
Leave it running for a few hours.

No, its an MSI.
I am going to get some air and blow it out and re-seat the CPU and hoep this will work.
It turns off once or twice a day at random times.
I will check the memory like you suggest.

Far from it. While they've had certain series of boards (their budget range mostly) that were a bit dodgy, the bulk of their products have been and are outstanding. But, they can be preettty picky about any small faults in other components.

No, they are great motherboards, just very picky about memory. Has been the problem with two of my PCs. Seems those who sell motherboards don't read the specs and will sell any sort of crappy memory.
Both problems have acted like the fault here. I've shuffled a few power supplies and other parts before I figured the first one out. Second one was way easier.

770232 2009-05-05 22:38:00 Oh ok then. I have an ASUS m3a32 MVP Deluxe Wi-Fi, and 2GB of 1066 Crucial Ballistix Tracer. Do you know if this is compatible? sammo450 (13626)

No idea, check the user guide of your motherboard.
