You run it sometime, then go into the registry manually and take a look....... OHHH Yeah!! it leaves traces all over the place.

I actually have started doing the removal slightly different over the last few days - If Norton is kind of working ,first I run revo Uninstaller (http://www.revouninstaller.com/) - the portable version from a USB drive, use the advanced options, which digs into the Reg as well as folders - it locates quite a few reg entries.

Then I run the Norton Removal tool for good measure.

Edited:

Really bugs me that software companies get away with selling software that is so spectacularly full of bugs. You're right there, but as long as the "lab tests" keep putting out so called good reviews, which in a real world dont match up, AND the shops keep pushing its products from sales people who dont know what they are selling in the first place to unknowing people, it wont change.

Had to use the bootable floppy with Ghost twice now in the last 3 weeks to save customers data to another drive before reinstalling, other cloning software, Acronis and Paragon simply wouldn't work - Ghost 03 chugged through and did the job.

Thats the ONLY Norton Product I use.

769981 2009-05-03 06:17:00 Ghost 2003 is pretty much all I use too.

In either case, if you really need to remove Norton, you have to reinstall windows.

I used to use it before I switched to Antivir/Comodo. The amount of times I did have to reinstall windows because of Norton was not funny.

Glad I moved on from that piece of junk :D
