2009-05-01 04:17:00 | Hi. I've installed Ubuntu within Win XP but decided then, for other than quality reasons, to uninstall it again. I executed this through Windows' "Add and Remove". It worked but each time when I start up the computer I get asked if I want to boot up with Windows or Ubuntu. Can somebody please tell me how to get rid of this? Many thanks.

2009-05-01 04:24:00 | I didnt know it appeared in add/remove programs. I cant remember seeing it when I installed Linux You would have to remove the entry for it in XP's boot.ini file. Or just format the partition Ubuntu is on

2009-05-01 09:24:00 | This sounds a bit weird - if Ubuntu was installed inside Windows why does the boot loader ask if you want to boot to Ubuntu? I have never installed Linux "inside Windows" but I cannot see why the boot loader should be affected? | johnd (85) | |

It adds a boot entry to the boot loader-looks as if its dual booting but really its just installing files as a"program" |

2009-05-01 22:21:00 | Run>msconfg>boot.ini tab>Click "Check all boot paths" Blam When doing this, a pop-up tells me "It appears that all BOOT.INI lines for Microsoft operating system are OK." But above there is the line C:\wubidr.mbr = "Ubuntu" Can I delete this line and the problem will be solved? Thanks for your help. PS: I just tried to delete the line but it doesn't let me.
