| 769543 | 2009-04-29 12:15:00 | I intend to download the Windows 7 beta RC which will be released for public download on May 6, having missed out on the previous Windows 7 beta release earlier this year. My question is, was the previous beta release version the equivalent of "Windows 7 Ultimate" in that every feature in the beta was available for testing and nothing was disabled. BTW, what was the file size of the previous beta release? |

Everything is fully working & I have yet to come access any thing that has been disabled…. BTW, what was the file size of the previous beta release? 2.43 GB for 32bit 3.15 GB for 64bit But I am thinking the RC, could bit a bit bigger. |

Windows 7 RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the Windows 7 RC will be available for download in the five languages English, German, Japanese, French, and Spanish According to many places Offically the RC 7100 will be available to Technet and MSDN subscribers on 30th April USA time - and available to the public on the 5th May. Just checked my own Technet subscription and its not there yet, so maybe tomorrow when its the 30th in USA. Yes, it installs the Ultimate version by default. You can enable the other versions but it's not worth the hassle unless you're bored. The beta keys will work with the RC & it expires May next year (I think). I grabbed the "leaked" RC on Saturday. No trojans and it's not fake. I guess some people grab the first link they see & get some infected build. So far i've had no problems and is running fine in a VM. Only annoyances so far is that I don't have full access to all the folders in my profile folder by default (eg. Local Settings, Send To, App Data etc.). I need to play some more to figure out where everything is kept & what tools are available to clean up temp files and so on. |
