769388 2009-04-29 04:16:00 Hi there

We have hooked up to Wireless Nation satelite broadband - this is supposed to be a fast system - at the moment its marginally better than dial-up. Well - i guess thats an exaggeration :clap

I have contacted them in regard to the VERY slow fast connection - but after 5 hours I havent heard a thing from them.

I havent just been trying to send an email out with a 754kb pic attached - OE kept coming up saying - Your SMTP server has not responded in 60 seconds would you like to wait another 60 secondsfor the server to respond.

I tried it over and over again and it kept coming up with that - so I opened hotmail and it sent quite happily. Is this a new problem or i it connected with our satelite connection, which incidentally isnt stable either.

Thanks :banana

I haven't had anything to do with wireless nation but I have with Farmside which gives reasonable speed and is very reliable. I wonder if they didn't get the satellite dish slightly out of line or your are getting interference from trees etc.

Hah. Farmside is no different.

Anyway speed is all dependent on which plan you signed up for. 256k, 512k, 1Mbps? Which?
Do a speed test to see if you are getting what you should be.
Then ring him. You will probably get voicemail but leave a message.

He DOES always ring you back - They need more people on the helpdesk.....

As for the mail - have you got your server settings right?
