598083 2007-10-04 23:25:00 Just saw a TV news blurb that the Tasmanian Devil only has about ten years left before it's extinct .

Is this a bad or good thing? :stare:

I saw that one in a Bugs Bunny cartoon and he looked to me like he shouldda been extinct a long time ago . . . he was mean and nasty and he spins around a lot .

Could NZ take a few thousand of them in for recuperation and rebuild the herds?

Maybe they are dying from too many kangaroos running all over them .

I notice that no-one else has mentioned this . . and youse guys are a lot closer to this news . Why do I have to be the bearer of news about Upsidedown Land and it's neighbor: Reallyreallyupsidedown Land .

Maybe no-one here cares anymore than the Aussies would care if the Kiwi went belly-up?

To answer your question :p

598085 2007-10-04 23:42:00 It's always a pity to know animals are going extinct. Each species is important in keeping the balance in nature.

Many people call me callous to care more about animals rather than humans....but I tell them there are 6.7 billion of us on earth, but only a mere few thousands of endangered animals, struggling to keep their existence on earth.

598086 2007-10-04 23:45:00 Thanks for rising to the bait...

I don't like to see anything or anyone become room temperature either.

Unless of course, it's gonna go on my plate as the main course.

<Mmmmm...dead animals!>

They are being killed off by the marauding bears who have had sticks poked in their direction . . . bait? . . . what bait?

Hey! Youse guys only let them have a tiny, little, itty-bitty part of the place!

I saw on the map that they are also near the S Pole..and I'd be an angry devil if I was kept there too.

Few thousands of SPECIES, not just the physical count.
