771206 2009-05-05 03:50:00 Is there a way to AUTOMATICALLY turn off screensavers each time I watch a movie, like Netflix or in my DVD drive? Rather than manually turning the screensaver off each time, then turning it back on again after the movie? AngieM (14883)
771207 2009-05-05 04:02:00 Welcome to PF1. :)

The screensaver ought to automatically not come on whenever a fullscreen app is running.

What OS are you running, and what software are you using to play the DVD?

771208 2009-05-05 04:04:00 Well no, some screensavers have Settings where you can select it not to activate while full scree apps are running but your bog standard Windows ones don't.

Just don't run one at all, they hog resources and aren't needed these days anyway.

771209 2009-05-05 04:54:00 some players have an option to disable the screensaver themselves. WMP does and I know I've seen it in some others dugimodo (138)

771211 2009-05-05 08:12:00 Is this on the Xbox?? Go to the settings and disable the screensaver. Netflix is also on this. Speedy Gonzales (78)
771212 2009-05-06 09:29:00 Hi Angie.

If you are using Media Player 11, this permits the screen saver to activate if for some wierd reason that option has been selected or ticked. Try clicking the arrow by Now Playing and choose More Options. Look for an option "Allow Screen Saver during Playback" and if it has been selected, deselect it.
