| 771068 | 2009-05-05 00:39:00 | Does anyone know of any available USB memory sticks that you just pop say a 4 digit pin number into to access from a PC? Basically I have a situation where we have a fairly locked down network and we stop all applications from auto-0running as well as stopping writing to USB drives. We do want to allow access for reading from drives manually at this point but were wondering about getting memory sticks which will be passworded (but do not require aut-run sofftware to kick in first). Does anyone know if such a thing is available in NZ? |

| 771071 | 2009-05-05 09:49:00 | You might not be able to wait but it looks like Win7 can password and encrypt any USB thumb drive (www.microsoft.com), kind of like the disk encryption that Vista had for laptops but extending it to thumb drives. It even sounds like there'll be something to give read-only access for earlier Windows. |

| 771073 | 2009-05-05 10:25:00 | I think the Transcend jetflash ones do. Just brought one the other day (2 GB for $19). You can download a program called Jetflash elite, from the Transcend site. It installs on it. And it'll also let you backup data (documents / outlook email stuff). And use it as a key for your PC |
