770789 2009-05-04 03:02:00 I would like to burn photo's from Picasa on the computer and play them on the TV recorder.
Think it's something to do with the finalising of the disc. Which I do when burning a disc from the tv and they will play on other systems OK.
Is it possible to finalise a disc on the computer?

Next question, Is it possible to put two programmes on the one disc?
Appreciate any help and suggestions..Ron..

770790 2009-05-04 03:05:00 Most standalone dvd players wont play a dvd or cd unless its finalised.

So, whatever program youre using, should have an option in it to finalise it

You didnt format this cd / dvd before you burned to it did you? Because you dont.

And does the recorder say it plays jpegs? What programs are you talking about??

If they fit on the dvd, I cant see why not

770791 2009-05-04 04:02:00 Thanks for the reply Speedy.
First off I didn't format the discs. The recorder is a Pioneer and will play JPGS. When I try to put another folder of photo's on a disc, it says " the items already on this disc will be wiped off" do you want to continue?.
The recorder is mainly used to swap TV recordings with family and as it will ask if if you want to finalise, no problem there.
Recently I had about 50 photo's in Picasa on the hd and burnt them onto a disc, it plays great on the computer, but will not play on the recorder nor my daughters recorder which is a Panasonic.
I thought there may be some way of doing the finalise thing on the computer.
Cheers Ron..

770792 2009-05-04 04:10:00 Try using Photo Story to burn them to CD/DVDs
www.microsoft.com

As long as the DVD player support the formats you have taken the pictures it should work fine.

770793 2009-05-04 04:15:00 If youre using cdrs or dvdr's you can only write to them once .

And that message youre seeing:

The items already on this disc will be wiped off could be why youre getting that message . So, add all of the photos to the cd / dvd at the same time (dont add then try and delete others)

What program (I take it youre using a program on a computer), are you using??

And what option are you selecting? DVD or video cd? Or slideshow (if its got the option)??

It'll probably be better if you use cd's (if there's only 50 or so photos to burn) . Its a waste of a DVD . And select data cd (videocd MAY work), or slideshow (if the program has the option) .

770794 2009-05-04 04:20:00 Are you burning them to the CD/DVD just as plain jpegs? or, are you burning them as a slideshow DVD which would convert them into VOB files.

How many jpegs are you wanting to put on the Disc?

If your DVD players support jpegs then you just want a data cd/dvd and put the files in the root directory.

770795 2009-05-04 05:23:00 Almost willing to bet that you burnt a shortcut to the DVD.

If you shove the DVD into your computer have you only one file which will be a shortcut to open Picasa? If so then that is why it will work on your computer.

What is on the DVD when you use Windows Explorer. One file?
If so then go to where the pictures are and drag and drop to CD.

To burn to a DVD you will need to have a third party application like Nero or Imgburn
