599758 2007-10-10 00:24:00 Ok I have finally convinced she who holds the purse strings to let me get Vista

Now i want Vista Business Full version and haveing a look at NZ sites it is about $730 however if i look at it on Amazon it is around $280 us which equates to about $360 nz

I know I have posted on this before but today I was actually in a position to buy it, unfortunately Amazon won't ship Vista to NZ we have puchased other items and they have been shipped no worries, but it will not let me ship vista

So
1) where is the cheapest place in NZ to get a legitimate version of vista
2) Is it just Amazon blocking the sale or is it Microsoft doing something?

599759 2007-10-10 00:34:00 Software often is zoned so you can't sell certain versions outside of certain regions. Most of the Microsoft software you buy in NZ will have stamped on it "Not for sale outside of the Asia Pacific Region".

In terms of where you can get it cheapest, you should try and get an OEM copy from somewhere that is willing to sell it with a mouse, or something along those lines.

599760 2007-10-10 00:36:00 Why do you want the full version?
Why not go the Upgrade way?

599761 2007-10-10 00:38:00 What OS do you currently have. Going by the reports on vista I am sure in no rush to get it, XP will be fine for me for a while yet. Bantu (52)

What are you doing that requires Vista Business Full that one of the "lesser" versions of Vista can't do?

599763 2007-10-10 00:47:00 More importantly, the Upgrade version can be used to do a full clean install, thus saving a heap of $$$.

Do Ascent sell OEM software separately without the need to purchase a piece of hardware like a mainboard?

599767 2007-10-10 02:11:00 An OEM version is my last resort as I will probably be slowly upgrading my system over the next few years a full version seems a damn site more logical if i do a motherboard/processor upgrade especially if I go from a 32 to 64 bit cpu, but that will be next year well and truley

As for upgrade I don't even want to go into why not, needless to say it is not an option at this time
