| 600036 | 2007-10-11 00:37:00 | Shall I quote rule #1 of netiquette? The golden rule your parents and your kindergarten teacher taught you was pretty simple: Do unto others as you'd have others do unto you. Imagine how you'd feel if you were in the other person's shoes. Stand up for yourself, but try not to hurt people's feelings. One person's fun is another's headache. Please do not abuse your anonymity power on the Internet for your own entertainment gains. Cheers and have a great day people :) You need to put on a dress, head into the kitchen, and COOK SOME PIE. |

| 600037 | 2007-10-11 01:13:00 | Seriously, if you want to stay upto date with a relevant thread but don;t like some certain comments/users, then just block or ignore them. Problem solved. Its your job really to make the internet do what you want it to do, it sure isn;t going to be bend over and do it for you. | beeswax34 (63) | ||

| 600040 | 2007-10-11 03:04:00 | If you dont like the arguments then don't read the threads, it only seems to happen in chat! One of the reasons chat was put in place in the first place, was to remove this "clutter" from the main help forum. Which it mostly does. |

| 600044 | 2007-10-11 04:55:00 | I wonder if there is any significance in, that with a couple of exceptions, the posters to this thread all exhibit pretty good grammar and spelling? Just thinking I don't think it's significant; this forum, by internet standards, doesn't have that many members around who can't tell the difference between a keypad and a keyboard. the "txt" posters are usually new members who pretty quickly get told that we like to post in english here. as for "growing up", i find this forum to be a relatively calm pool of sanity in the turbulent ocean that is the net. i think the average age has a lot to do with it, and the average IQ is probably helping too. has anyone been around youtube or gaming forums? the constant whine of 13 year old boys arguing blindly and without reason is overwhelming. then of course there's the work from the mods, who by any standards do a pretty damn good job - did anyone else notice how much quieter it has been since the recent temporary banning of metla and winmacguy a few weeks ago? we need a little bit of drama, but the mods always step in once or before it starts to get out of hand:thumbs: so i agree with what Somebody said on principle, but i don't think that it is really that bad here. i know a few places where total anonymity results in "NEEDS MOAR MUDKIPS" and hundreds of other such memes running rampant - that place is indecipherable to a "newfag" (and as everyone is called "anonymous" it's pretty hard to follow who's arguing with who, assuming it isn't just one person lol:rolleyes:) |
