Note that only Plasma are implicated in the article, this is one reason why I would not have one, as a choice against LCD. You can even feel the heat radiated from the screen. Some display units in the stores actually have a "warning-hot surface" sign on them, for good reason. In the winter, the heat is not "wasted" but will suppliment the room heating. So what everyone should do is buy a large screen Plasma TV and only use it in the winter (thus cutting down on other heating option costs) and a large screen LCD TV to be used at all other times! :D :D  |

If their plans prove to be a success in the few years to come, NZ will be a world-leader in terms of being a green and cleaner country, wouldn't it? The greener and cleaner our place are, the better for NZ's natural aspects. That will surely attract a wallop of tourists from all around the world. Sounds like you have well and truely brainwashed by the media over the past few years.. |

If we cancel the next rugby world cup then we will stop tourist flying here on big gas guzzling planes, and not using our hotels and transport and air conditioning and fridges for cooling beer and stadium lighting and.....well you get the point. But then I can keep my old fridge and my 50" plasma. |

Why not while they are about it ban large 4WD SUVs in Cities - Good idea isn't it. How about requiring a genuine rural address to own and operate a 4WD SUV. Find one in an urban area for more than 24 hours and impound it - second offence put it through a crusher - now that would certainly help green the place - but equally crackpot, and infringing on the freedom of the citizenry Grannie State must make all decisions on what people do and how they live because the state knows best. Especially when the State is Helen who must be obeyed. |
