600267 2007-10-12 04:44:00 I wouldn't pull out of a $1 reserve auction if it went badly. I had one recently where I stupidly put it on at 2.30am, so nobody was awake when it finished and it went for $100 (worth $170 or so).

I assume you do know that for a trivial charge you can choose the day and time your auction closes? I set my auctions to close at times when I know that people are likely to be at home and have time to browse, consult partners/spouses if necessary, and make a reasoned decision about how much they will pay (or get caught up in the heat of the moment and bid recklessly).

Dedicated TM addicts will find you anytime, but they only want to pay peanuts.

Cheers

Yes, I always set my $1 reserve auctions to close at 9-10pm on a weekday .

I forgot to do this that time I mentioned .

Thanks, though .

600269 2007-10-12 05:01:00 7 - 9pm would probably be better. Internet usage statistics show that's the busiest time of day for NZ'ers online. Greg (193)

But Trade Me statistics show that 9-10pm is the busiest time for Trade Me users online (and Monday is the busiest day).

600271 2007-10-12 05:29:00 Ah - didn't think of that. Greg (193)
600272 2007-10-12 07:25:00 Hmm.

What's the best way to get 15 identical computers sold for good prices as quickly as possible?

Is there much difference between, say, two-day $1 reserves and 7-day $1 reserves? If I ran consecutive two day long auctions that would be acceptable, but I don't want it to take longer than that.

They go for $165-175 with buy now prices but I'll be happy with $145.

600274 2007-10-12 07:54:00 PM'd, they're already listed. My $1 reserve experiment went for $152, so I'll try some more of them. george12 (7)
600275 2007-10-12 08:38:00 Don't list more than two at the same time. It will reduce competition for both auctions, as potential buyers have more than one chances to grab a bargain. qazwsxokmijn (102)
