599638 2007-10-09 19:17:00 Same here. They also sell Taiyo Yuden which are supposed to be the best in the world ..at a price and assuming they're not counterfeit..

I've ordered a number of TY spindles from there and they look to be the real thing. Genuine media code & packaging.

Not had a problem with them.

599639 2007-10-10 00:45:00 Verbatim became infamous in 2002 by switching from high-quality MCC ID media to the inferior CMC ID media, although they quickly returned to using MCC.

I guess they have not completely switched back, I just ran an Identifier over my Verbatium ones and they are CMC ID. I have a big spindle of them here to use up, I guess I don't use them on anything important:-)

If the TY ones from blankcd are rated 1st Class media I might get some of those. Or maybe or try to find some Mitsi or Hitachi 1st class ones for backups.

Tested with DVDIdentifier from www.digitalfaq.com

599640 2007-10-10 09:07:00 I use Verbatim whenever possible, as for cost they're not much more than cheapies.
I was in Melbourne a couple of months ago & bought dual layer discs for $1 a disc. Anyone seen that here?
