| 601688 | 2007-10-16 09:07:00 | Sometimes, by accident, one ended up seeing a little more than one intended to. Perhaps someone squatting behind a tree in a more exposed area than intended, or a secluded spot by a river not quite so secluded from the track as thought. When that happened eyes were averted or a hasty retreat was made with a muttered apology. And yes, I'm female and would have loved to have been on an Outward Bound course when I was younger. You're full of []. As I suggested before... no wonder the degenerates get away with so much. I bet []is one of your best mates. |

| 601689 | 2007-10-16 18:57:00 | And here's me thinking that Greg's original enquiry was genuine... A response like the above to Mercury is totally uncalled for - I suggest you read Mercury's answer a bit more carefully, and hopefully you will see that she is not supporting anything like you are suggesting. Your reply to her was disgusting. Ken gave you the answer right at the beginning of this thread. Get your friend (or his daughter) to talk to Outward Bound management about his/their concerns. I am not sure why you are involved in this anyway. |

Geez Greg, that is just so downright nasty . I've known Mercury on this forum, in Chat and PMs for years now and can assure you that she a very down-to-earth person with a lot of commonsense and to insult her in this way is totally uncalled for . :annoyed: Just because she may not have given a reply that you were perhaps wanting to hear doesn't mean that her suggestions are not valid . They are, and combined with KenESmith's suggestion you have received very good advice . I think you owe Mercury an apology . |

Capill was supposedly a man of God who preached morals beyond that of mortal man - he now rots in jail for preying on young girls. Scout leaders, Catholic priests, school teachers, nurses etc are professions or in positions that require responsibility but there will always be a few that tarnish this group. Outward bound philosophy is good but I too would be worried if my daughter were to attend such an outing. It is paranoia fuelled by isolated incidences - by why take the risk. No matter how sound the intentions of the orgranisation there will always be an element of risk. |

| 601693 | 2007-10-16 21:01:00 | Thank you Sam, well said. Foxy... as for an apology to Mercury, no. I have three daughters of my own. So naturally I am interested in what goes on and my wish to impart what I've heard to my mate. When I heard from my mate that his daughter was contemplating going on this course my ears pricked up. It was ten years ago or so when my then girlfriend's sister came back from the course. She felt totally humiliated by the experience. She was bullied and humbled to the extent that afterwards she wouldn't go outside the house for weeks. Following this one of her friends told us about similar feelings and experiences by one of her relatives. My original post was to try find out what sort of experiences others may know about. If some ditzy is happy with the blokes perving her body and toilet habits then fine. But some of us prefer our daughters not having to be exposed to that sort of lewdness. |

What about your inappropriate attitude and downright rudeness to other people on a public general admittance forum Greg?. You obviously don't have any respect for anyone? |

Don't make me lock threads that turn into an off-topic, mud-slinging brawl . Stick to topic and avoid personal attacks please . |

It was inappropriate and insulting - and does you no credit . |
