599903 2007-10-10 07:16:00 Bands have pretty much done their dash by the time they break up, Its better they do what they have to do when the feeling hits them.

Blindspot were a one trick pony limited by their entire plan, which was to copy generic radio-freindly american nu-metal.

No doubt they were due to be replaced by a kiwi band whose entire plan is to be a generic copy of american radio freindly emo.

What isn't a copy these days? But please, name a better NZ rock band.

599904 2007-10-10 07:20:00 Most current bands are crap anyway, as are a majority of NZ bands (i.e. Datsuns ... what crap ... Knightshade piss all over that crud).

Hmmmm Interesting comment that  most of the Older bands music still gets played at parties today, along with new music of course, older bands music seems to be "hanging around " longer.

What makes me smile is when some modern group, put out a "new song" teenagers think its such a great "New Song"and then someone pulls out the Original, made years before -

OK my pick - NZ group Split Enz

Everything included on the soundtrack for the Devil Dared me movie, Especially the Have and The D4.

Still generic copies though, NZ music is pretty crap.

Anyway:
Pink Floyd
Rage Against The Machine
Coverdale/Page
Fleetwood Mac
and Knightshade

Hmmmm....The Datsuns at the big day out a few years ago done some big bad rockin, Freakin awesome. I have all three of their albums, They don't match the live experience.

Knightshade I saw many years ago, It was an alright show as I recall but...uh...lacking in a few areas. At about the same era Stonehenge (of Wings of Steel fame) were killer, they done an Iron maiden tribute.

One of the bettter shows I have seen was the Exponents, They rocked the **** out of the Powerstation, They were on bad drugs, and played such a heavy show. Took me by complete surprise.

599910 2007-10-10 07:40:00 Not sure, only recently really got into their music. Gotta say, one of the, if not the best NZ rock bands. Period. And Nil by Mouth owns (And Phlex for those that like something a little different)

Turn up the volume and point the speakers at the neighbours
