599816 2007-10-10 14:54:00 The worst one I had had 1069 infestations

lol is that all? ......I had a system to fix that avg picked up .....now I cant remember the exact number but it was about 9980 odd infected files.....cant be sure how many actual viruses that was but that's my record....avg managed to autokill all but 5 which I then had to manually remove....funnily enough the pc was a good runner after that......another one I had was just over 8000 infected files all of which were in a folder the guys teenage son had created to hold his downloaded files.....kid had been home for three months using dads pc.......i get the feeling he was banned from it after that !

That would almost qualify for an award, ( :badpc: ) although not neccesarily an award they would want to display. A few more people like that and your new business is assured of a steady revenue flow. I believe users like that arrive on earth at the rate of one every minute, but alas, some will not be in your catchment area.

599819 2007-10-10 21:16:00 Of course its Nortons!!!

Nah, a reinstall is admitting defeat, I'm getting there. Got Control Panel back now.
I'll just scan with everything to make sure. Told her she won't have it back until tomorrow sometime.

The worst one I had had 1069 infestations. Now that really was stuffed. Only time I ever did a reinstall, I celaned it - it was a Win98 PC, but it was screwed up after so I wiped it and re-did it all.

She managed to reinfest it again 2 months later.........

I have so many anti-crapware programs it's not funny, sad thing is all of them are needed, with all the stuff around now

I've just recently been using Comodo BOClean, that is seriously one awesome program
